Our clients had worked very closely with the council planning officers on the design of their new house, which was to replace an old dilapidated bungalow. The case officer recommended the application for approval but the council’s planning committee refused permission.
It was a very disappointing decision given how much time and effort had been invested in the application both by the architect and the council planners.
We appealed the decision, going into detail about how the design of the new house had evolved so that it fitted in as well as possible with the other houses along the street. We were delighted when the inspector allowed the appeal and granted permission.
