Our Consultants are RTPI Chartered Town Planners, and why it matters

At Just Planning, all of our consultants are Chartered Town Planners and Members of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI). Chartered status represents the highest level of professional accreditation within the planning profession and is widely recognised across the planning system by councils, inspectors, developers and homeowners.

Becoming chartered requires planners to demonstrate a high level of professional competence and practical experience through a rigorous assessment process. Chartered planners must also commit to a formal code of professional conduct and ethics, and to maintaining their knowledge through ongoing professional development. This ensures that advice is informed by current planning law, national policy and local practice.

For clients, chartered status provides reassurance that they are receiving advice from a qualified and regulated professional. It reflects a nationally recognised standard of expertise and helps ensure that planning advice is robust, objective and delivered with integrity. Chartered planners are expected to act in the best interests of their clients while maintaining professional independence and ethical standards.

As an RTPI-chartered practice, Just Planning also holds professional indemnity insurance, providing an additional layer of protection for clients. This is an important safeguard when dealing with planning applications, appeals and enforcement matters where decisions can have long-term implications.

Whether you are appealing a refusal of planning permission, responding to enforcement action or seeking strategic advice on a development proposal, our chartered status underpins the way we work. It reflects our commitment to professional standards, careful analysis and clear, honest advice throughout the planning process.

If you have received a planning refusal or an enforcement notice, we are happy to review the documents and explain your options, prospects and next steps. You are welcome to get in touch to discuss your situation.

Want tailored advice for your planning appeal or notice?

Send us your refusal notice and we’ll review it for free, explain your chances at appeal, and outline the next steps clearly.
